Retail Associate – Water Testing Specialist

Position Summary
Mock Pools & Ponds is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Retail Associate to lead in-store water testing and support retail sales operations. This role is responsible for delivering accurate water analysis, recommending treatment solutions, maintaining store presentation, and creating a professional, solution-oriented customer experience.
This position requires technical confidence, strong communication skills, and a proactive work ethic. We are not looking for someone to simply run a register — we are looking for someone who can guide customers to the right solution.
Key Responsibilities
Water Testing & Customer Guidance
Perform computerized pool and pond water testing
Interpret results accurately and confidently
Educate customers on chemical balance and treatment plans
Recommend appropriate products based on test results
Document testing results when required
Retail Sales & Customer Service
Assist customers with product selection and technical questions
Upsell chemicals, accessories, and maintenance products when appropriate
Operate POS system and handle transactions accurately
Resolve basic customer concerns professionally
Store Operations
Stock shelves and maintain organized displays
Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock
Maintain cleanliness of testing station and retail floor
Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising updates
Qualifications
Retail or customer service experience preferred
Pool, pond, or water chemistry knowledge is a plus (training provided)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented and comfortable working with testing equipment
Ability to lift 40–50 lbs (chemical buckets and inventory)
Available to work Saturdays during peak season
