Description:
Installation & Service Skills System Installation: Proficient in mounting units, running copper refrigerant lines, and connecting gas lines and venting. Electrical Proficiency: Skilled in wiring both low-voltage controls and line-voltage power systems. Fabrication: Hands-on experience with sheet metal layout, ductwork installation, and pipe brazing/soldering. Diagnostic Tools: Use of manifolds, multimeters, vacuum pumps, and combustion analyzers. Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Required Skills:
Technical Qualifications & Certifications Education: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in HVAC/R or a Postsecondary Technical Certificate. EPA Section 608 Certification: Mandatory Universal or Type I/II/III license for handling refrigerants Industry Readiness: Certifications like NATE “Ready to Work” or HVAC Excellence Employment Ready certificates. Safety: Completion of OSHA 10-hour construction safety training.
