The position of Direct Support Professional (DSP) is, in all aspects, an extremely important position. Direct Support Professionals not only help improve the daily quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities, they assist them to grow, learn, self-advocate, and improve upon themselves. They help change the lives of the individuals with which they work with.

Assistant to Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Staff provide daily support to individuals with disabilities in the individual’s homes with activities like crafts and socializing.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Staff provide daily support to individuals with disabilities in the individual’s homes with activities like personal hygiene and meal preparation. DSPs also assist the individuals in the community on appointments, recreational activities, and providing transportation to and from work.

Medication Certified Direct Support Professional – Staff trained as a DSP, continues with additional training within the company to become certified in administrating medication to individuals with disabilities in their homes.

Required Skills:
No experience required, training completed at facility.

Assistant to DSP – Must be at least 16 years of age. No high school diploma/GED required, great for students during the summer!

Direct Support Professional (DSP) – No high school diploma/GED required, compatible with STNA certificate

Medication Certified Direct Support Professional – Must be a Direct Support Professional and obtain additional training for Medication Certificate, training provided by facility.

Full or Part Time:
Full time, part time, PRN, and flexible shifts available

Hours:
Full time is 40 hours a week, required to work every other weekend. Typical 8 hour shifts are 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am

Part time is 16 hours a week, every other weekend.

Flexible and PRN hours are open to what is available at the group home, a minimum of 4-6 hours a week. More options can be discussed at interview.

Wage:
Assistant to DSP – Starting wage $9.00/hr. First raise after 90 days.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Starting wage $11.50/hr. First raise after 90 days

Medication Certified Direct Support Professional – $14.80/hr

New class training starts June 10th
