The College of Wooster

The College of Wooster is seeking a full-time electrician who while using general safety practices installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatuses, and electrical/electronic components of commercial and residential machinery and equipment. This position will be required to perform after hour calls on an “on-call” rotation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as residential appliances, outdoor lighting, food service equipment, lab equipment, fire alarm security, and card access systems
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatuses and machines
Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses resolution with team members
Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in building remodeling projects
Performs a variety of preventative maintenance tasks
Reads blueprints and drawings to evaluate wiring schematics and provide input to electrical team

Required Skills:
Education and Experience:

Equivalent of trade school and trade related experience equaling a minimum of 1-2 years.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Electrician Contractors License is preferred. State of Ohio License to Install Fire Alarm Systems is preferred. Must have valid Ohio driver’s license.

Full or Part Time:

7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
On-call rotation

$23.00 – $25.00 per hour
