ABOUT THE ROLE: The Machine Operator role is at our Polymer Innovation Center. (This location is where we conduct R&D, product development and prepare innovations to scale up.) This position is part of a high-functioning team that works together on daily plant operations, inventory and associated administrative duties. This is an overnight shift from 6:30pm-3:00am, Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
\n-Operate blending\/pulverizing equipment and forklift
\n-Maintain plant and equipment with routine and preventative maintenance
\n-Read customer orders and blend according to a developed formula
\n-Manage inventory levels onsite and communicates to the office regularly
\n-Collaborate with a team on jobs and priorities
\n-Flex between jobs and equipment
\n-Work in a lab setting for development of product, as needed<\/p>\n

-Proven mechanical \/ maintenance skills with heavy equipment\/machines
\n-Strong math skills, including fractions, ratios and weights
\n-Strong ability to work with hand tools and occasional power tools
\n-Quality thinking and detail-oriented, ability to follow a plan or formula
\n-Self-starter with ability to work independently under minimum supervision
\n-Problem solving skills and process improvement orientation
\n-Excellent communication skills (in-person, call, text and email.) Will communicate with vendors, truckers and occasionally customers
\n-Adherent to PPE rules; steel toe boots, eye\/ear protection and masks, as needed
\n-Action oriented with flexibility to change direction
\n-Organized and systematic in plant and paperwork
\n-Positive attitude is a must.
\n-Must have proactive work ethic and be very active in your work<\/p>\n
Education\/Experience:
\n-High school diploma required, plus technical or formal training
\n-Three to five years related experience and\/or training
\n-Experience operating a forklift<\/p>\n
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, lift and climb. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and\/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to mild levels. Continuous activity.<\/p>\n
